Ishiba received 215 votes in the run-off while Takaichi only got 194 votes. That’s good news for yen bulls, as Takaichi was the one who had been vocal in scrutnising the BOJ for hiking rates too fast. So, Ishiba winning at least takes some of that pressure away.
