Fundamental Overview The US Dollar yesterday weakened across the board despite a higher than expected US Core PPI and Fed Chair Powell acknowledging the need to proceed more carefully with rate cuts from here on. This might be a signal that the market could be fine with just two rate cuts priced in for 2025

The changes among major currencies are light, with narrow ranges largely prevailing for now. The dollar is still sitting in a good spot though, after having pushed higher again in trading yesterday. The mood was helped by Fed chair Powell’s comments that they’re not that much in a hurry to lower rates. USD/JPY is holding

The only notable event for the European session was the UK GDP release. Looking ahead we just have some low tier data points until the start of the American session. That’s when we’ll get the US Retail Sales report which is going to be the main highlight of the day. 13:30 GMT/08:30 ET – US
